Website Traffic – The Truth
By Trevor Kugler
When you start a website, many people don't realize how important traffic is to get. Not only is traffic difficult to get, if you can’t get it, there's no point in having a website. Many times this isn't realized. I think many people labor under the delusion of, "If you build it, they will come.", meaning of course that if you build a cool looking website, with relevant content and products, that people will automatically visit your site and like it. My friends, in case you didn't realize it, this is NOT true. A website can just be out in cyberspace forever and no one will ever know it's there if you don't literally go out and get traffic.
I know when I first started a website, I though that traffic would just come…the 'if you build it' philosophy. I quickly found out this was not the case. And unless you have a big budget for advertising, that means you're going to have to spend a lot of time writing articles and such. Otherwise, you might as well not have a website. Because without traffic, a website means less than a fart in the wind, and in case you didn't know a fart in the wind isn't worth a whole lot.
So now you're left with this cool looking website that's all ready to go and parked out in the parking lot known as "cyberspace". What do you do, to make your car stand out from all the others, so people will take a look at it? The best way I've found to accomplish this is through writing articles. It's the only effective way that I've found to drive traffic to your website that's truly FREE. Everything other method that I've seen (that doesn’t cost money) to drive traffic to your website is complete BS! Article writing is real and works.
So you begin writing articles and finally getting some traffic to your website, good for you. Now have you heard of something called "conversion". Oh yea, if you thought that getting traffic was a veritable open can of worms with worms EVERYWHERE, just wait until you begin studying turning that traffic into real money. Fun, fun. Hey! Who thought that making a living on the internet was a piece of cake? Oh yea, that was me about 3 years ago, then as with most things, I realized the truth.
