List Building - What The Weasels Won't Tell You

List Building - What The Weasels Won't Tell You

First of all, when I say weasels I want everyone to realize what I'm talking about. I'm referring to those "experts" that want to sell you e-books and software on how to build lists and make money. In my humble experience, most of these weasels simply want your money. They want your money and give you very little actual information in return. For example, I've personally purchased e-books that reiterate over and over again how you must build your list, but offer no solutions on how to actually do it. I've also been involved with companies that push you incessantly to build your list (which in theory is true), and guess where you're supposed to get the names from? You're supposed to buy them from the very company that pushes you to "build" your list! It's a vicious cycle that I want to help people avoid, if at all possible. The first order of business is to decide which kind of list you want to build. For the most part, there are two types of email lists:

1) Lists that you Buy - These are names that you purchase related to your newsletter, e-zine, or proposition. If you're going to go with this route, be ready to spend quite a bit of money. Not only do you spend a lot of money, the quality of the email addresses is usually suspect at best. This is the easiest way to build a list, but by far the least effective.

2) Opt in lists - These are names that the individuals decide to give you. They voluntarily decide to receive your emails. This is the kind of list that everyone wants, but very few people are honest about building. There are various ways of getting people to sign up for your information, all of which you should begin researching.
The bottom line is that it takes time to build a quality email list. You can buy names all day everyday, but you will run out of money before you see any real results. The real way to build an email list is to invest the time educating yourself on the subject. The more educated you become on the subject, the better off you will be. Just beware of anyone who claims that it's as simple as buying names and sending them some sort of newsletter. Like most things of value in this world, building a quality email list doesn't happen overnight.
That's the biggest hurdle that the weasels won't tell you about. That hurdle is that there is no simple and easy solution to list building. You have to keep at it and demonstrate a little patience. The weasels always want to make it seem like you don't have to "do" anything. I would like everyone to consider one thing: If making money were as easy as buying a bunch of names and then sending those names an email once a week or so, wouldn't everyone do it?

Article Marketing and Its Impact on SEO

Over the course of the past three to four years an ever increasing number of individuals and businesses who are desirous of increasing traffic to their Internet websites have taken to article marketing. Article marketing has been discussed rather generally elsewhere in this ebook. In addition, article marketing has been presented as a tool for the promotion of your website in different ways throughout this ebook.
If you properly utilize article marketing, you can have a significant positive impact on your overall SEO efforts. By understanding the ways in which you can best utilize article marketing, you will enhance the traffic to your website and, as a result, will increase your revenue and profits in both the short and the long term. Through this ebook, you are provided with a myriad of techniques that you can employ in order to enhance your overall SEO efforts.
First of all, through article marketing, you are able to write about topics that are specific to what is going on at your Internet website. Within the article, you can embed a link to your own website. People interested in the subject of your article (which will track with the products and services at your website) very well may be inclined to click on the link and visit your website.
Second, articles that you have marketed also have the ability of setting yourself up as an expert in a particularly arena. You can also subtly – and not so subtly – establish your website as being integral to the subject of the article you have marketed. Many successful business owners, operators and managers on the Net have really established themselves as experts through their own efforts at Internet article marketing.
In the end, you can join the ranks of many business owners who are operating on the Net today who have greatly enhanced the value of their overall business operations through the use of article marketing as a means of making their SEO efforts all the more effective.

How Much Traffic Is Enough Traffic

How Much Traffic Is Enough Traffic

If you have a website you a well aware of the fact that without traffic, you might as well not have a website. So how much traffic is enough traffic? Website traffic is an interesting thing. You can never have enough traffic. Traffic is the lifeblood of a website, and website owners are constantly looking for ways to drive traffic to their sites. Traffic, traffic, traffic. Anyone who intends to make any kind of money from a website quickly realizes that the first thing that they have to do is drive traffic.
If, for some reason, you haven't realized this little tidbit of information you soon will. When I started my first website, I thought that traffic would somehow magically appear. I'll give you one guess as to what happened? No traffic appeared. I quickly figured out that you had to literally go out and get it. That is unless you have a big advertising budget. And if you do have a big advertising budget, get ready to waste some money figuring things out because there are a ton of unscrupulous companies making unrealistic claims about bringing traffic to your site.
The traffic puzzle is a tough one, there's no question about it. If you're attempting to generate money on the Internet, traffic is the key. Not just traffic, but quality traffic and lots of it. So if you have a website, and have the intention of generating money, start researching ways that you can drive traffic to your site. By the way, one of those ways is through writing articles. Just remember: you can never have enough traffic and traffic is harder to come by than you may think.

6 Steps to Excel at Search Engine Optimization

Quick search engine optimization--or SEO--is a method of attaining high search engine rankings by using the correct words, correct placement and frequency of those words, and more. If you follow these 6 steps, you will be able to do your own search engine optimization for your website.
Step 1: Register
Get your domain name into the big three search engines--MSN, Yahoo, and Google. You don’t even need your site to be operating.
Step 2: Know Your Potential Customer
The vast majority our ideal customers will probably enter the same search terms to find you--use those terms in your content and titles for the writing on your website.
Step 3: Friendly Design
Don’t create a site that doesn’t appeal or write copy that doesn’t make sense. It wouldn’t matter how many keywords you put in, you will not get good rankings or have many people staying on your site.
Step 4: Keywords
These are very important to quick search engine optimization--know the exact words your ideal client or customer will enter into search engines to find you and get that phrase in your content at least 2% of the time (no more than 4%).
Step 5: Stay Fresh
Keep your writing, your links, and your design all fresh and current. A design that looks stale will make the writing seem stale even if it was posted yesterday.
Step 6: Get Backlinks
These are links that other companies provide to your site on their own web page. Don’t trade links, and don’t get links from just anyone. Quick search engine optimization is sometimes a little slower in the making.

Several Tips For Effective SEO Keyword Work

Several Tips For Effective SEO Keyword Work

Geography Helps
SEO does pay attention to geography. It's also helpful if you pay attention to geography if you have a particular region for a niche in mind or if you want Google to be aware there is a local area that has an interest in your sites. It's much easier to get noticed in a particular region if you use keywords with the name of the city in them. So, maybe you have a business that is selling to writers (a publisher or self-publishing company), and most of the writers are located in New York. Then, you would want to do keyword research on writing as well as New York as that can help you sell your services.
Overlap Keywords
You saw this strategy used in some of the examples I listed at the start of this ebook. For example, the title "Learn Social Media Marketing" can be used to find the website by using typing into the search engine "learn social media" or "social media marketing." This is a way of overlapping two great keyword phrases to get more bang for the buck, so to speak. If you have the opportunity to do this, go for it.
Don't Focus Too Much On Density
You don't have to be compulsive about the keyword density anymore, except to realize that it shouldn't be overdone. You can get penalized for using too many keywords in an article or web page by Google. So, stick to keyword relevance and don't focus as much on creating a high density keyword page.
Test Your SEO Results
If you do decide to use a formula for your keyword density, you should try to ascertain what works best for you, the readers, and the Google search engine. You can do this by have different pages with different densities and then seeing which generate more ad revenue or sales.
By the way, are you a coach, consultant, entrepreneur, speaker, small business owner or online marketer who is tired of getting paid less than you are worth for your coaching and consulting?
